McKenzie Lyng doesn’t have your average golfer story. She didn’t start playing golf until she was 16 years old. Softball had her heart for a very long time. McKenzie traveled the country playing competitive softball tournaments while her peers were playing junior golf. She quickly fell in love with the game of golf and the challenges that came with it. McKenzie played her college years at Kent State University and graduated with a degree in Marketing. After college, she moved to Arizona to pursue her professional golf career. She competed on the Cactus Tour and Canadian Tour for several years. McKenzie was also on the hit T.V. show “Big Break Mexico” on The Golf Channel in 2013.

Although she never made it to the LPGA, her game is still as sharp as ever and she still enjoys the competitive aspect of the game. She has moved on to different things in her life, including being a wife and mom. While McKenzie is no longer competing professionally on tour, she is now the CEO of BackSwing Golf Events. She enjoys the flexibility of being a business owner and still being able to travel to events.
